| Some notable everyday conservation initiatives employed at Four Seasons Great Exuma include the construction and use of a reverse osmosis plant that draws sea water from Emerald Bay's wells and purifies it through a desalination process. Close to one million gallons of water are produced daily by the plant and converted to drinking water or used in landscaping. Additionally, Four Seasons Resort Golf Course uses seashore paspalum grass for its fairways, an innovative hybrid of grass that permits salt water to be used for irrigation. The lush greens thrive on saline and gray water, which also decreases the need for fertilizer and pesticides by more than half. Four Seasons Resort also believes in the importance of social responsibility in the community and supports Bahamian citizens through employment, partnerships, philanthropy, and purchasing local goods and services.
