Mountain Paradise Hotel invites guests of all ages to enjoy the perfect balance between nature, service and simplicity all amidst lush grounds with stunning views of the volcano. This intimate hotel has a totally Costa Rican feel as its main strengh complemented by the highest standards in personal, friendly service and guest comfort. The hotel features 40 volcano view rooms in three categories: Master Suite, Junior Suite and Premiun Suite. Additionally, the hotel offers Deva's SPA, a gourmet-style restaurant, a swimming pool with Jacuzzi and bar, a mini gym and spa services. There are golf carts available to take guests from the main areas to the rooms. Plus other personalized services offered by Mountain Paradise include breakfast served in your room upon request and free scheduled transportation to La Fortuna and the nearby hot springs. A buffet breakfast is included each morning.

Located three hours from San Jose's Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) and four hours from the Daniel Oduber International Airport (LIR) in Liberia, Guanacaste.

ACTIVITIES IN THE AREA
The northern plains of Costa Rica are one of the world’s most topographically diverse regions, home to the majestic Arenal volcano. Visitors to this spectacular tropical zone can take part in several activities and tours that enrich the visit to this truly special place. There are activities and tours for thrill-seekers as well as those simply looking to unwind. They include whitewater rafting, horseback riding, hot springs, bird watching, canopy tours and crossing suspended bridges over the forest canopy.

  • Walk to Arenal Volcano The walk to begins with a drive to the active northwestern side of the volcano. Once there, you will start on a hike through Las Coladas Trail which crosses the rain forest and goes over a large lava flow that formed in 1992. It is possible to observe a great variety of plants, wildlife, and magnificent lava formation. Once on top of the lava flow, you will have a beautiful view of the sunset over Arenal lake. The hike ends at a viewing area where, if weather permits you will be able to see red hot lava rolling down the side of the mountain. During the tour, our experienced guides will provide interesting and educational information regarding the history of the majestic mountain and the Arenal Volcano National Park. The tour ends with a relaxing stop at the hot springs(optional).
  • Horseback Riding This is a good combination of horseback and hiking through beautiful scenery. Experience is not needed as trained horses will take you to the entrance of the waterfall through private farms, forest and hills, where you will enjoy spectacular views. When you get to the entrance of the waterfalls, you'll leave the horses and start to descend to the river. This is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the forest and wildlife while you swim in the crystalline waters of the river. If you prefer, you can take the option of the horseback ride by the Arenal Volcano. This one begins at the base of the Arenal Volcano in an incredibly beautiful place, rich in flora and fauna, it takes approximately 3 hours through private farms, here you will have the opportunity to appreciate an amazing panoramic view of the Volcano, getting as close to the volcano as the law allows.
  • Combination Tour Enjoy all of the best attractions in the Arenal region in a single day: choose to visit either Eco Centro Danaus or the Arenal Hanging Bridges; La Fortuna Waterfall; lunch in La Fortuna town; volcano hike; hot springs at sunset.
  • The Cano Negro Wildlife Refuge is considered the best site on the continent for bird watching. In addition to an abundance of birds, Cano Negro is also home to many exciting animals, such as sloths, three types of monkeys, caimans, lizards, bats and a wide variety of flora native to the wetlands.
  • Venado Caves Fascinating underground adventure takes you through a labyrinth of passages and chambers in which you will see stalactites, stalagmites, bats, spiders and rock formations known as “La Papaya.” You will also be able to see evidence that the caves were at one time at the bottom of the ocean.
  • Rio Celeste Tour The river is located in the Tenorio Volcano National Park. Upon arrival you'll enjoy a good hike through the rain forest. Visit Los Tenideros, where we will find two springs of blue crystal water and waterfall and lunch.
  • Arenal Hanging Bridges Tour 600 acre reserve, filled with lush vegetation and a variety of birds and animal which your experienced guide will help you spot. The trail itself is 1.9 miles in length, crossing nine fixed bridges and six suspension bridges. This is an easy hike that all can enjoy.
