| | | Tango Mar Hotel is located on a 150-acre private beachfront reserve along the Nicoya Peninsula on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, offering the intimate exclusivity of a small, deluxe beach resort on a vast site. Located 4.5 hours from San Jose's Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) and 4.5 hours from the Daniel Oduber International Airport (LIR) in Liberia, Guanacaste.
ARRIVAL INFORMATION
Transfer from SJO to Puntarenas (approx. 2.5 hrs.). From Puntarenas, a ferry takes you to Paquera Pier (approx. 1 hr. 15 mins.). In Paquera guests are met at the pier and transferred by van to the resort (approx 45 mins). This pleasant trip includes land transportation and ferry tickets.

Tango Mar offers three different types of lodgings; oceanfront rooms that mainly cater to families, tropical suites for couples and Tiki suites for the most demanding. All rooms have been recently renovated, have a private bath and are equipped with a/c, phone, satellite TV, a safety deposit box, a well-stocked minibar and complementary coffee.

Environmental Action Programs
A recipient of the The Costa Rican Ecological Blue Flag certification award.
Costa Rican Ecological Blue Flag program award is founded on the importance of clean beaches, education and information about the environment. The intent is to increase public knowledge on this theme and overall promote the protection of nature and the sea turtles. Tango Mar also supports The Certification in Sustainable Tourism Program - CST - a product of the Costa Rican Tourism Institute and was a 2011 recipient of CST certification from the Tourism Board of Costa Rica as a Sustainable Company with Level 3 out of 5.
Hotel eco-policies include the use of non-chlorinated, biodegradable soaps and natural fertilizers, recycling of waste, composting and provision of food leftovers as animal feed to local farmers. Tango Mar strictly observes ecological codes regarding construction, artificial light, use of pesticides and sewage treatment.Tango Mar has planted over 8,000 trees to attract birds into the property, and a lake area has been created out of surplus resort water to attract migrating fowl.

Families and friends like to come together at Tango Mar where they can have fun without being lost in a crowd. For children it offers a safe, secure environment with activities ranging from enjoying the beach, pool and horseback riding to exploring the nature trail and waterfall, snorkeling, watching birds and animals on site and learning about the environment on a nature tour.
