Marriage Requirements:
Obtaining a marriage license from the USVI Territorial Court is a simple process. It consists of sending in a one-page application no less than eight days prior to arrival and making an appearance at the Clerk of Courts office before your ceremony.
• No blood tests or physical examinations are required but couples must allow themselves eight days to get the license.
• If the ceremony is to be performed by a judge, a letter must accompany the marriage license application stating the date of the couple’s visit, the planned length of stay, and the preference of date.
• The license fee is $50.
Civil ceremonies before a judge of the territorial court cost $200 each; religious ceremonies performed by clergy are equally valid. Fees and schedules for church weddings must be negotiated directly with the officiant. |
