Activities and Recreations at Privilege Aluxes, Isla Mujeres

The Privilege Aluxes Isla Mujeres offers a number of on-site activities for all ages and endless ways to stay active and fit. Isla Mujeres itself offers an abundance of water activities for all ages. Scuba dive or snorkel in the crystal clear, turquoise waters surrounding the island. There are opportunities to go sailing, join a fishing excursion, and to swim with Dolphins. This area is known as the “Nursery of the Caribbean” and is the migratory path of sea turtles, game fishes and the largest fish in the world, the whale shark. Guests can enjoy exploring the natural wonders of the Mexican Caribbean while staying at the Privilege Aluxes. Kayaks, paddleboats, small sailboats and windsurfers are available at the on-site aquatics center. Considering that the island is relatively flat, bike trips are very easy. For those not wishing to travel by bike, then renting a golf cart or motorized bike will work just as well.

Around the Island
A trip to Isla Mujeres is not complete unless you explore the entire island! Let the hotel's Concierge Desk assist you with renting a bike, moped or golf cart. You can visit the Turtle Farm and see the majestic sea turtles, stroll through Hacienda Mundaca, and of course, shop!

Learn to Dive!
And of course there's the diving and snorkeling with the world's second largest reef right off shore. Diving for the first time is considered by many to be the beginning of a life long passion. Being introduced to a world of underwater life and near weightlessness is an experience recommended to all. Adults and children alike are welcome. The resort's highly qualified PADI instructors patiently take you through the basics of equipment familiarization and your first sea dive!
-A Resort Course - will allow you to learn to dive in one day, and you will obtain a certification valid for 3 weeks. The deepest you can dive with the resort course is 45 feet.
-Padi Open Water Certification - In only 4 days you can become a fully trained and certified PADI open water scuba diver. The scuba staff will supply everything you need to complete this course including classroom and pool training, 4 supervised ocean dives, books and equipment.
With the new PADI CD-ROM course you can complete theory at home and become a PADI open water certified diver in just two days.

Paradise Snorkeling
Take a pleasant boat ride through crystal clear waters to reach the beautiful underwater National Park, a natural reserve that shelters more than 300 species of colorful fish. Explore the reef and join the resort's interesting guided tours. Your ticket includes:
-Free Aquaworld snorkel
-Snorkeling equipment and life jacket
-Guide, instruction and refreshments
-Round trip cruise

Other Activities
Skyrider - This sensational ride takes you and a friend aloft high above Cancun -- and you can choose between ocean or lagoon-side ´flights´. If your party is large, you can enjoy this experience together in the same boat (eight people maximum). The ride provides a spectacular view and you will enjoy this stunning but very safe experience. Also you can take your camera or video camera with you! Instruction and refreshments are included. Departures begin at 10:00am finishing at 4:30pm every hour. Children under 11 years old half price.

Wave Runners
Speed across glistening Caribbean waters aboard the resort's Yamaha VX 110 1052 c.c. wave runners. Rentals by the half hour, 2 pax maximum. Includes: wave runner, life jacket, instruction, lockers, showers and restrooms.

Catamaran Rides
16 ft. catamaran - learn and have fun with sailing lessons or just lie back and enjoy the ride.
