Get to Know Puerto Vallarta

Explore the city of Puerto Vallarta in the surrounding mountains and sea, whose residents are happy to welcome visitors every day. Its geographic location boasts a huge bay on the Pacific Ocean with blue waters of all shades on one side and the Sierra Madre with cool temperatures, rivers, waterfalls and steep hills on the other.

Known as “the Heart of Puerto Vallarta” and declared as a cultural heritage site by the State of Jalisco, Downtown Puerto Vallarta is located between the Malecon and the iconic buildings of the area. All along the Malecon it is possible to find sculptures, artistic manifestations, Huichol art, the worldwide famous Arcos and spectacular views of Bahia de Banderas.

Downtown Puerto Vallarta also includes the Kiosk, a meeting point for festivities and activities for locals and visitors; City Hall, located on the northern side; and the Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe, a neoclassical building located half a block from the resort, whose crown and tower are iconic of Puerto Vallarta. This spectacular building can be seen from almost every part of the city.

This is one of Puerto Vallarta’s most visited areas because of its red tile buildings, narrow streets, art galleries, small cafes, bars and restaurants. The Marina is a very exclusive area because of its luxury resorts and condos, yachts, boats and cruise ships, restaurants and cafes, stores, supermarkets, organic grocery stores, art and music. It is an excellent destination for going a walk and enjoy all of the attractions located alongside.
