NDC (New Distribution Capability) fares are distributed directly from the airline and have some restrictions and limitations. These restrictions do not apply to American Airlines. The below are airline rules, Vacation Express is unable to make any exceptions.
Passengers booked on the same Passenger Name Record (PNR) must have the exact same travel itinerary. A passenger on the same PNR can't cancel and keep the air credit for a future date or travel on different dates than other passenger(s).
If a change is needed, all passengers must change their travel dates. New travel dates must be provided immediately, see the Cancellations must be Changes section below.
Passenger(s) not traveling can "no show" and forfeit the value of their tickets.
You can request passengers are booked on individual PNRs, but Vacation Express cannot guarantee the same fare for all passengers even if they are booked in the same fare class, due to the dynamic pricing of airlines.
Cancellations must be Changes. A canceled NDC fare has no credit or value, meaning a reservation cannot be canceled and the NDC fare used at a future date. You can change your travel dates instead by calling the Contact Center, keeping in mind the following:
All passengers on a PNR must have the same itinerary to avoid anyone forfeiting the value of their ticket.
Reservations cannot be canceled without new travel dates. They must be changed to avoid forfeiting the value of the NDC tickets.
When changing an NDC ticket, it can only be exchanged for another NDC fare. If all NDC fares are sold out on the new preferred flight, you will have to choose an alternative flight.
NDC fares do not allow for residual value credits. If the new NDC fare is less than the old one, the fare difference is forfeited.
Canceling a reservation with an NDC fare online means you are forfeiting the value of the ticket.
Other Restrictions:
Non-NDC air credits cannot be applied to NDC fares.
Unaccompanied minors cannot be booked with an NDC fare.
Infants cannot be booked online with an NDC fare. You can call the Contact Center to make your entire reservation or to add the infant to your existing reservation. Infants added to NDC bookings will only be visible in the reservation on the airline's website and will not show on Vacation Express' travel documents.
Seat assignments are not available at the time of booking with NDC fares. You can secure the seat assignment after ticketing directly on the airline's website. There may be a fee for seat selection.
