Marriage Requirements:
• Original birth certificates for both Bride and Groom is required. Bring or send two photocopies.
• Both parties must have a valid passport. Bring or send two photocopies of the main page.
• Statutory Declarations of Single Status legalized by the Consulate of the Dominican Republic. (A sample can be provided by the hotel if requested. Forms must be notarized.) Note: You will need to send (or bring) both the original form in English and two of the translated forms. The cost is US$100 per legalization and US$40 per translation. Only the translated copies are legalized and stamped, so these are the ones you have to pay for. The English copies are for their verification purposes.
• Divorce certificate or death certificate (if applicable). Bring original or notarized photocopy and two photocopies. In both cases, a minimum waiting period of ten months applies before you can remarry.
• Adoption certificate (Only for adopted individuals - translated into Spanish)
• Certificate confirming change of names (Only for individuals in this particular situation- translated in to Spanish)
Civil Weddings are celebrated in Spanish. Hotels can provide
translators upon request (fees will apply). Witnesses can also be provided upon request (fees may apply).

Important Note: Due to recent increases in marriage fees in the DR, expect to pay up to US$455 for the license and judge fees. |
