Overview:
A Manuel Antonio region vacation combines the rainforest with breathtaking white-sand beaches, among the most beautiful in Costa Rica. Manuel Antonio and the adjacent port town of Quepos have become a Mecca for the jet-setters and Hollywood celebrities that come to enjoy the serenity and the active nightlife, which includes restaurants, bars and discotheques. The Manuel Antonio Region has received plenty of coverage in travel magazines, earning it the distinction of one of the 10 most beautiful places in the world. From Manuel Antonio you can experience whitewater rafting, guided rainforest waterfall walks, horseback riding, snorkeling and sports fishing. Manuel Antonio National Park is the country's smallest national park at just over 683 hectares, but it is also one of its most amazing. Home to one of the last sizable population of the endangered Squirrel Monkey in the region, the park also houses White-headed capuchin and Howler monkeys.

Manuel Antonio National Park is where tropical rainforest meets the dazzling white sand of Playa Manuel Antonio — one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica and one of the top ten in the world. The beach is a half mile long with a perfect white-sand crescent bordered by deep green mangroves and palms. Naturalist guides will help you get the most out of your by explaining the history and geography of the area as well as pointing out iguanas, monkeys, sloths, agoutis, armadillos, pisotes, coatimundis and raccoons.

Some activities include: Manuel Antonio National Park and a variety of water sports, including surfing the legendary waves featured in Endless Summer II.

Transportation Tips:
Private transfers are recommended to and from the airport. Driving distance is approximately 4 hours from SJO and 5 hours from LIR.

Travel Tips:
Bring long pants, a camera, a light jacket, swimsuit, binoculars, walking/hiking shoes, rubber soled shoes for water activities, sunscreen, insect repellent, a small backpack for excursions and a rain jacket.



Important Note: HOLY WEEK is an important religious holiday in Costa Rica. During late March to early April certain activities operated by local independent tour companies may not be available. Plus, alcoholic beverages may not be available at your resort or at establishments outside the resort.
