Overview:
There is a certain atmosphere that permeates the mid-pacific Puntarenas region of Costa Rica. It wraps itself around you and frees you from the stresses of everyday life. The wildlife is abundant and you are likely to spot scarlet macaws, toucans and monkeys. The area is casual and laid-back but bustling when it comes to shopping, restaurants and nightlife. With its surfer-friendly atmosphere and magnificent beaches and waves, professional and amateur surfers from all over the world flock here. The region boasts countless beaches and picturesque towns and villages. There are also several protected areas and national parks to visit. Visitors will find a variety of adventurous travel experiences like touring through tropical forests and mangroves, horseback riding to tucked away waterfalls, kayaking through rivers and estuaries and walks on the beach. Prepare yourself for a full itinerary of sights to see.

Activities in the Area:
Some activities include: Manuel Antonio National Park and Tortuga Island Tour (one of the best areas for surfing/surf lessons).

Transportation Tips:
Private transfers only are available to and from the SJO and LIR airports. Driving distance is less than 2 hours from SJO and approximately 2.5 hours from LIR

Travel Tips:
Bring long pants, a camera, a light jacket, swimsuit, binoculars, walking/hiking shoes, rubber soled shoes for water activities, sunscreen, insect repellent, a small backpack for excursions and a rain jacket.



Important Note: HOLY WEEK is an important religious holiday in Costa Rica. During late March to early April certain activities operated by local independent tour companies may not be available. Plus, alcoholic beverages may not be available at your resort or at establishments outside the resort.
