Spices Rum & History South Grenada Tour

 
Discover some of Grenada’s most famous attractions on this half-day tour along the southern shores. Start your day in the picturesque capital of Saint George’s and explore the bustling market lined with stands selling tropical fruit, vegetables and spices from across the island. Next, step back in time with a stop at the historic Fort Fredrick before taking a break on the idyllic shores of Grand Anse Beach. Head to the Chocolate Museum and learn about Grenada’s organic chocolate production before sampling some confectionary or relax at the Carenage, a scenic inlet lined with waterfront bars. Afterwards, stop off at charming Woburn fishing village and watch as traditional fishing boats, modern yachts and powerboats cruise through the bay and take in sweeping views of picturesque islands just off the coast. End your day with a visit to De La Grenade Industries and Grenada Distillers, where you can sample some of the island’s finest exports from delicious syrups to jams, jellies, chocolate liqueurs and rum. Grand Etang Rainforest - Hike & Swim

 
Trek along popular hiking trails and admire Grenada’s natural beauty on this exciting eco-excursion. Hop on board a comfortable shuttle and take in views of the island’s varied countryside as you make your way to the Grand Etang National Park and Forest Reserve in the heart of the island. Visit the Grand Etang Nature Center and learn about the jungle’s flora and fauna before following your guide down forest trails lined with cinnamon and nutmeg trees. Listen for the sounds of the jungle and exotic animals that call it home like tree frogs, birds and monkeys. Make your way through the rainforest to St. Margaret Falls, a series of cascades known locally as the Seven Sisters, where you can cool off with a dip in the pool at its base before hiking back. End your day with a refreshing drink and the chance to meet some mischievous Mona monkeys.

First, learn why Grenada is known as the Isle of Spice with a tour of the Gouyave Nutmeg Station or the Dougladston Estate where local products like nutmeg, cinnamon and cacao are processed. Then, visit the Diamond Chocolate Factory, which is housed in a former rum distillery and produces the popular Jouvay brand of chocolate. Continue to Belmont Estate, a 17th century plantation where you’ll enjoy authentic Grenadian cuisine for lunch before taking in sweeping views of the town of Sauteurs from the top of Carib’s Leap. Next, head to the River Antoine Rum Distillery, the oldest functioning water-propelled distillery in the Caribbean, where you can sample some delicious rum.
