Explore one of the most historic cities in the Caribbean on a guided tour through Nassau to discover its most famous landmarks and hidden gems. Begin your journey at Parliament Square and admire the beautiful architecture and unique pink colour of the House of Assembly, Senate and Supreme Court of the Bahamas. Next, taste one of the island’s favourite treats at the Rum Cake Factory and see why it was made the Official Rum Cake of the Bahamas. Then, venture to Potter’s Cay Dock, a pier and market full of local food and crafts, before taking in the majesty of Nassau’s cathedrals. Step into the past as you wander the underground passages, dungeons and moats of Fort Charlotte before ascending Society Hill for a picturesque view of the city and the famous Queen’s Staircase from top of Fort Fincastle. Finish off this varied excursion sipping craft distilled rum from John Watling’s Distillery in a historic estate fit for royalty.

You’ll be visiting three culinary masters who will walk you through their craft, provide a full tour of their establishments, bestow guidance to any chefs in the making and, of course, have you tasting delicious traditional food. Your entrée accompanies a visit to Twin Brothers, where you will learn about the Caribbean tradition the Fish Fry and sample several different preparations of the archipelago’s world-famous conch. For dessert, you’ll head to Greycliff, a chocolate factory housed in an 18th century mansion, for a tour with a master chocolatier to witness the transformation of simple cocoa bean to a scrumptious treat. Finally, you’ll head to the historic Buena Vista estate to sample authentic Bahamian rum from John Watling’s Distillery, while you learn about the rum making process and its significance.

Recommendations/Notes: Bring swimsuit, towel, extra cash, change of clothes. Minimum age to get in the water is 4 years old. All children must be accompanied in the water by a paid adult over the age of 18. Young people between the ages of 13-17 may enter the water alone, but must be supervised by an adult or guardian (with an observer ticket) who signs a disclaimer. All participants must be able to go up and down the ramps to access the platforms. Access to people with different abilities is allowed with prior notice. For safety, no electronic objects are allowed on the platforms or in the pools. Participants must make their own way to the meeting point.
