Booking Your Trip to the Maldives
To get to the Maldives, you will need to fly into Malé-Velana International Airport (MLE). From Malé you will fly to Dhaalu Airport (DDD) located on the island of Kudahuvadhoo in Dhaalu Atoll in the Republic of Maldives. Your Vacation Express reservation to Riu Atoll in the Maldives will include mandatory transportation from Malé to your resort, which consists of a scheduled service flight aboard Manta Air and a ferry boat transfer. Travelers cannot choose their domestic flight to and from Malé to Kudahuvadhoo. After booking your trip, you must send your flight information of the international flights to and from Malé to [email protected] (a minimum of 1 month prior to international departure). How to Get to Your Connecting Flight from the Malé Airport
Once you arrive at Malé, have your hotel reservation easily accessible as you will go through immigration control as soon as you enter the airport. It is extremely important to have your reservation with you since the maximum permitted stay in the country is 30 days. Please note the following luggage restrictions: travelers are permitted one 22kg (approx. 48lbs) suitcase and one 5kg (approx. 11lbs) hand luggage (16x10x20 inches).

Once you have picked up your bags, go to the domestic terminal for your flight to Kudahuvadhoo. Once you reach the terminal, find the check-in desk for Manta Air. Your hand luggage will be weighed as it cannot weigh more than 5kg (approx. 11lbs). Once this is done, guests of RIU have access to a restaurant lounge to wait for their departure. The lounge includes a small buffet and free Wi-Fi.

The flight from Malé to Kudahuvadhoo is approximately 45 minutes. Once you arrive in Kudahuvadhoo you will be greeted by a staff member with your hotel card who will accompany you to the bus taking you to the ferry port. The bus ride to the ferry boat is approximately 10 minutes, and the ferry boat ride to the hotel is approximately 15 minutes. Once you have crossed the walkway taking you to reception you will take a left turn Riu Atoll.
