A Rich History
The word 'Thalasso' comes from the Greek word meaning 'ocean,' explaining the literal meaning of the word Thalssotherapy - therapy from the ocean. Natural salt water taken at a certain depth from the bottom of the ocean and its marine elements such as seaweed, thermal clay, plankton and phytoplankton are some of the indispensable elements that are used in Thalassotherapy. Thalassotherapy itself dates back to ancient times and numerous testimonies of its use can be found in Greece and Rome, where it was developed and spread to other countries. In the 20th century, research conducted by a number of medical institutions proved the effective qualities of this therapy. Modern Thalasso applications enhance stress reduction, weight loss, anti-cellulite, muscle, joint healing and more. Paraiso's luxury spa in Mexico uses only Thalgo products from Europe and all the therapists are trained and certified specialists in Thalassotherapy.
