Roatan Scuba Diving and Snorkeling

Turquoise Bay is the only dive resort in this lush and remote area of Roatan providing scuba divers and snorkelers with the opportunity to dive and snorkel uncrowded, pristine sites. The North side of Roatan offers scuba divers and snorkelers the unique opportunity to experience the largest variety of reef topography on the island. Roatan, in the Bay Islands of Honduras, is surrounded by the world's second largest barrier reef that is one of the healthiest in the Caribbean due to the Roatan Marine Park and the local dive community encouraging conservative diving practices. Explore sloping plateaus perfect for spotting macro life, sheer walls with large soft corals and barrel sponges, wreck dives abundant with life, crevices, trenches, overhangs and cavern systems such as the two most popular dive sites: Underground and Dolphin's Den.

Roatan's water temperature ranges from 78 – 84 F with visibility consistent between 60 and 100 feet.

Dive Packages Available
Certified divers, choose the 5 Day 2 Tank Dives room category and your stay also includes 2 dives per day for 5 days, professional PADI instructor, water & fruit on board, weights, weight belt, air tanks. Does not include regulator, BCD, wet suit, mask, fins, snorkel or torch. These items can be rented on board. Dives are scheduled to depart 2 times per day at 8:30AM and 10:30AM. Dives are approximately 50-60 minutes in duration. For certified divers only. Children must be at least 10 years old to dive.

Dive Center
The on-site Dive Center is operated by Subway Watersports, an elite PADI 5 Star Instructor Development and National Geographic Dive Center. Subway Watersports opened for business in April 2001 and soon became well known for its quality and personal service. The location at Turquoise Bay opened in March 2006. They offer valet diving of small groups of 6-12 divers per boat and a PADI Divemaster to guide all dives. Experienced Scuba Instructors offer PADI scuba diving lessons, from beginner to Instructor Level, in private classes. In addition to diving Turquoise Bay offers snorkel trips, fishing and day trips to the neighbouring Bay Islands.

Dive Schedule
Subway Watersports is open 7 days a week. The dive and snorkel boats leave daily at 8:45 a.m., 10:45 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. They offer one night boat dive per week (more on request). The scuba dive and snorkel trips occur mainly on the north shore of Roatan in the area between Sandy Bay and Punta Gorda. Dive sites are close by, so they come back to the dive shop for the surface intervals. When trips go to some of the further dive sites, they do a two tank dive in the morning and one tank in the afternoon. Subway Watersports is the only dive operator diving on this part of Roatan which means you will not see other scuba divers during your dive and have private unspoiled dive sites.

Packages
All-Inclusive dive packages include three boat dives per day. Should the sea conditions not allow a dive on the Roatan North shore, guests will be bussed to an alternate location on the South side of Roatan. When diving on the South side they are able to do two boat dives per day instead of three. This scenario may happen between December and March because of strong Northerly wind.
