Belize, a melting pot of cultures, is situated on the Caribbean coast of Central America, occupying some 8,867 square miles of land with over 200 cayes offshore. Mainland Belize consists of 180 miles in length from the Mexican border in the north to the Guatemalan border in the south. Its widest spot stretches 68 miles across. Belize is bordered by the world’s second largest barrier reef and is characterized by a rich diversity of sea and landscapes and an abundance of flora and fauna. A tropical climate with wet and dry seasons is the natural factor that makes Belize such an appealing vacation destination. The wet season occurs from mid-May to November in the south and mid-June to November in the north. The dry season falls between February and April. December and January are transitional months with the coolest and driest weather of the year. The most popular time to travel to Belize is between December and May, during the drier season.

A Belize vacation can mean rappelling down mountain sides, tubing through caves, trekking through thick jungle, viewing rare, tropical birds, visiting the only Jaguar Preserve in the World, basking on white sandy beaches, snorkeling in clear waters, plunging 30 feet into the Caribbean Sea to explore the colorful and pristine Barrier Reef or simply relaxing in an exotic resort. Take advantage of the archaeological wonders as you explore the Mayan ruins. Go kayaking, rafting or fishing on your choice of a number of rivers in Belize. Experience an eco-adventure at one of the many jungle and wildlife reserves. Then enjoy Belize’s many bars and clubs, and savor the countless mouthwatering cuisines served at a myriad of restaurant choices. A Belize vacation affords the opportunity to soak up a diverse society of many cultures and spoken languages while enjoying the convenience of the official spoken language of English. Remember to pack your sense of adventure, whether you’re headed to the beach, a dive site, mystical Maya temples or a culinary tour. All ages will truly enjoy this safe, affordable Caribbean paradise.
