Among this resort’s many heavenly amenities are the accommodations, all recently renovated using reclaimed materials from the island. While the resort is fully sustainable, you won’t even notice you’re staying at an eco-resort.

Thatch Caye is the perfect place to disconnect and recharge. Wi-Fi is only available in common areas, allowing you to immerse yourself in your getaway. When you’re not holing up in your overwater bungalow or cabana, you’ll be discovering the true meaning of blissful tropical living. You’ll be sunbathing on a hammock, swimming in the natural saltwater pool, receiving an optional seaside massage or enjoying many of the complimentary water toys. You’ll be knocking back fruity drinks and dining on fresh Belizean cuisine at the overwater bar, lounge or The Grove. Perhaps the chef is preparing a fish that you caught that day! Since all meals are served communally, you’ll get to hear stories from your fellow travelers and possibly make a few new friends.

Getting to Dangriga
To get to your resort in Belize you will need to fly into Belize International Airport (BZE). From BZE you will need to book a flight to the destination area of your resort, Dangriga. The flight to Dangriga is 15 minutes. You can add your Tropic Air flight to your Vacation Express booking during the booking process under Booking Options. This add-on service will include round-trip flights between BZE and Dangriga. This will not include your ground transportation, which will be supplied by your resort. Your Tropic Air reservation made through Vacation Express will not be available to view on Tropic Air’s website. You do not need to make any arrangements directly with Tropic Air. Your Tropic Air reservation holds a seat for you based on your arrival. Due to the size of the aircraft, seats are not pre-assigned. Upon arrival to BZE, after clearing immigration and customs, someone from Tropic Air will be waiting for you to guide you to the Tropic Air desk where you will check in for your domestic flight and will be placed on the first available flight to Dangriga. Your return flight time will also be confirmed at this time. If your international arrival flight to BZE is delayed, Tropic Air will automatically rebook you on the next available flight with open seats. Please note that in some rare circumstances this may be a flight on the following day. In the event of delayed flights or misconnections, it is the traveler's responsibility to acquire accommodations in the city.

The price of your Tropic Air flight includes one personal item carried on (up to 15lbs and 14”x18”x8”) and one checked bag (up to 50lbs and 30”x18”x13.5”). Any additional baggage can be purchased at the check-in counter for Tropic Air. For more information on their baggage policy visit https://www.tropicair.com/baggage-policy/. Please note, there is a strict one personal item policy, and two small bags would need to be consolidated.

As you arrive to the Dangriga air strip, Thatch Caye Resort staff will be waiting to pick you up and drive you to the dock at the Pelican Beach Resort for the boat pick up. Boat pick ups for arrivals occur daily at 2:30PM and 4:30PM (subject to change), and boat pick ups for departures at Thatch Caye occur daily at 7:45AM, 9:00AM and 11:00AM (subject to change). If you arrive to Dangriga early on arrival, you can enjoy a meal and beverages at their beachside restaurant. After, experience the 25-minute, 9 miles boat ride from Dangriga to the island. The boat ride to and from the island is included with your all-inclusive accommodations.

When leaving your destination via Tropic Air, travelers must be checked in at least 45 minutes prior to departure of your flight to BZE. It is recommended to allow a minimum of a 3-hour connection time at BZE. This is to ensure that you receive all your luggage in time for your other carrier’s departure.
