Begun in 1953 as a collection of villas on a 110 acre pineapple/allspice/coconut plantation, the resort has long served socialites and celebrities. Villa owners have included writer/producer Noel Coward, Viscount and Viscountess Rothermere, and, currently, designer Ralph Lauren. Accustomed to opulence, owners come here for the restful rusticity, which also attracts celebrity and non-celebrity alike couples and families.

The city of Montego Bay and Sangsters International Airport are about 25 minutes drive east of the resort's peninsula.

Incredible Villas
There are 27 individually owned villas/cottages comprising 74 suites surrounded by 30 acres of gardens, facing west to enjoy breathtaking sunsets. Villas or cottages which are nestled on the resort's hillside peninsula contain 2, 3, 4 or 5 suites/rooms, each with its own entrance and living area (enclosed or semi-enclosed). Sizes vary and all have spectacular views of the Round Hill Bay. 23 villas have a private swimming pool. Each villa has a kitchen where housekeepers cook breakfast for service in separate suites. Complimentary golf cart service is on call for transfers between villas and the main facility as required. Over the past decade, most villas have undergone major renovations, and each cottage, whether a quaint and cozy 2-bedroom without a pool or a large spacious 5-bedroom with private pool, offers its own individual beauty and charm. Vacationing in villas has become a trend, a concept Round Hill has offered for over 50 years. Round Hill cottages or villas may be rented as individual suites, and pools are shared with one other suite or as complete villas.
