At Tango Mar the opportunities for relaxation and adventure are endless. Two private beaches have over a mile of sand for walking and sunbathing. Venture along the cliffs to the Mirador for a breathtaking panorama of beach and ocean. Then, explore the coastline and a nature trail on a visit to a nearby cove where you will discover a 40-foot waterfall bursting through a cliff into the natural ocean pool below. Or, take a refreshing dip in the resort's pools during the day or evening. Take one of several adventure tours offered at the resort and see nature close up. Spend a half day snorkeling at beautiful Tortuga Island, or hike through the wild jungles of Curu Nature Reserve or Cabo Blanco National Park. Visit nearby towns with guides in comfortable, air-conditioned transportation. Then, return home to relax, or maybe go to nearby Montezuma for a night on the town. SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE Tango Mar has a 9-hole executive golf course, two lighted tennis courts, a soccer field, two swimming pools, a gym and stables with horses. Golf-equipment, mountain-bikes and boogie-boards are available for rent. Or do what most other people do... laze amid the beautiful surroundings of the spring-fed swimming pool set in a picture-perfect jungle garden of exotic plants and trees. Fishing Sport and deep sea fishing offer constant action bringing in sailfish, marlin, dorado, tuna, wahoo and mackerel. On coastal fishing excursions, boats travel in sight of Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve, with a view of one of the most beautiful nature parks and the exotic birds that inhabit it. Deep sea fishermen are attended by experienced crews who know the local waters and can locate the best fishing sites. Fishing parties frequently experience sightings of whales and dolphins in these waters. Equestrian Center Tango Mar has its own quality equestrian center. You can ride into the jungle, across rivers and valleys, visit local village communities and discover hidden jungle waterfalls. Trails also include some of the best beach horseback riding available anywhere. Snorkeling & Scuba Exhilarating snorkeling and scuba adventures can be found among the reefs off nearby Tortuga Island with their intriguing rock formations festooned with a myriad of soft corals, sponges, anemones, featherdusters and dancing tropical fish. The Banana Express is a sunken steamboat with interesting aquatic culture and lots of colorful fish! And intrepid divers thrill at deep water sightings of majestic manta rays, whales and bottlenose dolphins. Sailing Sailing excursions may be arranged to fit any desire. Enjoy a romantic interlude cruising along the Pacific coastline at sunset, or embark on a journey to long distance ports. A sailing adventure suitable for your style and budget is easily organized during your stay at Tango Mar. Surfing Surfers will relish the constant rolling waves that are characteristic of this part of Costa Rica. Few places in the world offer the experience of riding the crest of wave after wave with only the dipping and soaring gulls as companions. Tango Mar's own south-facing beach is fast rising, with waves that close out quickly, but good for a short ride, especially when the Antarctic storms are brewing. The west end of the beach offers a point break onto shallow rocks into a fast, right slide. Nearby Mal Pais gets sets from the west and south - long rides and overheads. Soccer Tango Mar's list of leisure attributes also features a soccer complex with a number of well-manicured fields of sizes suitable for all age groups. Costa Rica Division I teams visit the resort to practice, play with and provide coaching to visiting international teams. Golf Course Tango Mar has a nine-hole golf course and for that reason alone many would eliminate it from a list of courses to play, but this course is perfect for tuning up the most important and most neglected part of your game: the short game. This is not a chip and putt course. The number of people with access to play Tango Mar is very limited. This allows you to play as many holes as you like or practice to your heart's content. Measuring 2000 yards, Tango Mar is not an easy course. If you've ever had the thrill of watching the Masters in Augusta, Georgia, and have walked their nine-hole par three course, you know that the beauty and difficulty of a golf course are not necessarily measured by its distance.
